20th-Come one, come all! Kick off the Family Affair year with a Fish Fry at The Oceana – enjoy dinner, games, and a walk on the pier or beach! A night of fellowship for all!


27th-Public School Teacher Appreciation Night: FUMC supports two schools with Backpack Blessings - Morehead Primary & Morehead Elementary. Join us as we honor teachers of these school as our guests for dinner. Our FUMC member, Travis Day, member of the Board of Education will share a few words.



4th-What’s Happening Around Morehead City & Carteret County? Tom Kies, President of Carteret Co Chamber of Commerce, will be our speaker. The Chamber represents nearly 900 businesses and organizations on the Crystal Coast. Tom is also author of his first mystery novel, Random Road.


11th- “Facing Loss and Grief” The Lay Shepherding Team of FUMC will present a seminar on this sensitive and significant topic. What does it mean to grieve, how do we grieve, and how do we care for one in grief are some of the topics that will be discussed.


18th- Bingo! A classic favorite for the whole family…everyone loves Bingo! Join us for dinner, bingo, and prizes!


25th-The Nelsons in Concert. The Nelsons out of Harkers Island have been singing together since 1972. A night of beautiful harmonies, toe-tapping tunes, and worshipful praise awaits all who attend. This will also be Pastor Appreciation Night – bring a note or a giftcard for our Pastors – Powell, Sarah, and Patrick – to leave in the baskets.



1st- An Evening Honoring Morehead City Fire & EMS. We are all thankful for those who serve our community in protecting, serving, and rescuing. Members of Station #1 (1406 Bridges) and Station #2 (4034 Arendell) will be our guests. Come to say thank you and have some fun – there’ll even be a fire truck!


8th-Veteran’s Appreciation Night. We give thanks for our Veterans who have served us and our Country in the Armed Services. We have Veterans among us from all branches and posts of service. Veterans are our guests for dinner! The Rev. Colonel Jerry Lewis, who served as chaplain in the Air Force for 30 years and now serves as pastor of Northwoods UMC, will be our speaker.




15th-The Rise Worship Team will lead us in a time of glorious praise! This group of instrumentalists and vocalist lead worship every Sunday morning for The Rise in the fellowship hall – music includes contemporary songs as well as traditional hymns set to new tunes. Come, let us worship the Lord together!


29th-A Celebration of Missions - At First UMC we are committed to reaching out to the community and the world with the serving hands of Christ. Come to hear about some of the wonderful and significant ways we are engaging in the world. Hosted by our Missions Team.



6th-FUMC Children’s Choir Sing – Come hear our children and youth share some of their praise music for us all to enjoy.


13th-Utmost Praise! Utmost Praise returns to FUMC for a Christmas Concert. This group of four singers have deep local connections, incredible testimonies, and beautiful voices. Don’t miss!
